Seaview Egg Co.
CLUCK CLUCK!
We now have 4 chickens! They will be named tomorrow after the children have brainstormed ideas.
So many people have helped us to realise our goal of keeping poultry in our school. We have so many people to thank and we are bowled over by the extent of the generosity we have been shown in Seaview.
Thank you again to:
- Charlie Magill who put in so much work erecting the fence and paying all costs!
- Town & Country for supplying the pallets
- Alex Connolly for donating the mesh frames
- Whitebrae Engineering (David Hunter) for modifying and inserting gates to the mesh frames.
- David McKay and family for making our beautiful 'Seaview blue'hen house
- Dymphna McConaghie and family for donating 4 lovely chickens and supplying us with a feeder and water tray.
- Marbeth at OMYA UK for donating grit.
We are extremely excited to announce our 'Eggcellent' new enterprise. Our children are now selling eggs from our brand new honesty box. The children will be in charge of collecting eggs/ maintaining the health of our hens and managing the accounts and monies from our egg business.
The school has an 'Animals on School Premises' Policy and all children will have signed a consent form before working with any animals.
