P1 - What a lovely morning for a maths lesson on the beach!

P1 took their maths lesson outdoors this morning. This week, we have been looking at ‘area’!

We worked in pairs and had to draw different sized 2d shapes in the sand! Aswell as comparing our footprints! We used stones to help us decide which area was bigger/ smaller if the shapes looked very similar in size. We even noticed that if we used different sized stones it would be unfair!

Afterwards, we practiced writing number lines - some children went all the way to 20!
