Medieval Jewellery

P.1 & 2 have been learning all about the Medieval times. Today we designed a piece of jewellery and spent time looking at different materials that would have been used: gold, silver, rubies, sapphires. The children then used their designs to create their own piece of jewellery. There are some spectacular crowns!

The children then went to visit Stephen Montgomery at The Steenson's workshop to see how jewellery made in modern times. We saw some beautiful pieces and were very grateful to Stephen for all his expertise and answering all our questions!
