Big Beach Clean 2019

Today we had lots of fun cleaning up Glenarm Beach. Thanks to the parents and visitors who joined us.

The whole school went out together and picked up all the litter we could find.

We then brought it back to school and sorted it into the different materials. The rubbish was then weighed.

Here are our results:

Plastic- 31kg

Pottery/Rubble- 28kg

Animal remains- 1.2kg

Wood- 3kg

Paper- 0.3kg

Metal- 4kg

Textiles- 6kg

The children then took the sorted materials to the Glenarm Recycling Centre where we disposed of the rubbish correctly.

To top it all off we all had a wee treat when the ice-cream man came to visit!
