A little bit of geology...
P.3 and 4 have been exploring how different kinds of erosion can affect different kinds of rock. We went to the beach to discover different types of rocks and to collect some for our experiment.
We discuss erosion and how, over time, even the hardest rocks can be changed by wind, rain and water. We predicted which rocks will erode more quickly like lime stone because it was crumbly and light. We also talked about hard rocks like basalt and flint. We thought of ways these rocks are used in our lives.
Lastly with our rocks we used the Mohs scale and in groups ordered rocks and minerals by hardness.
